 Unfortunately our old supplier of organic poultry is no longer certified organic but we are now supplied with organic chickens from a poultry farm in Pembrokeshire - not quite as local but still from West Wales and equally as delicious.
For information all organic chickens are free range but not all free range birds are organic! As is the norm in organics, the poultry will only have been treated with antibiotics if a bird is ill and not as an addition to their daily feed.
This is because the organic bird has a much healthier regime than barn/cage reared birds and disease within flocks is much rarer. Unfortunately the only "unpleasant" side of organic chickens is the extra cost that their well being brings, as it is much more expensive to rear out door organic chickens and eggs, but please try and afford this as it makes such a difference to their lives.
